How do I put permissions on the menu items?

#1 posted Wed, 05 Oct 2016, 12:47 PM

I manage a lot of the content in our website and i have made several "Admin Only" pages to help with this which i have put in the Menu for easy access. However it is still possible to access them when i am not logged in which means everyone else can as well. How do i change the permissions for these menu items so that they only show up for me and other administrators?

The easiest way to do this is to go to the permissions of the web pages you wish to set as private. Remove general public permissions (if they have them) and then add permissions for just the administrators group or just yourself if it is only you who needs to use them. This will resitrict the who can view the pages so that the general public cannot see them.

In the back end, find your web page /s you want to be admin access only.  Click on them and, on the Permissions tab, select the General public group and remove it.  Then add in the group / people or Role that you want to have READ premissios on your web pages.

This is my EOI.  I have not added any special formatting.  No bullet, no tabs, no number lists or tables.  Just a few para breaks.
