Overview

Web Page Templates are the basis from which web pages are built. They provide the physical structure into which you can place Atoms; the "function" part of a web page.  This Help Resource explains how these Functional elements are added to a template - and how they are configured.

Web page Templates also carry all of the style that is applied to the web pages that are made from them.  Web Page Template styling is the subject of a separate Help Resource.  However, in general, the Atom will respond to the underlying Style that has been applied to the Web Page Template.

Another feature that Templates provide is the ability for the web pages made from them to respond to different screen sizes (devices).

The following Help Resource explains the detail of creating a Web Page Template.  The attached Video provides a shorter overview.

Guidance

Creating a Template

A template needs to be created in the back end of an installation. The usual place for this is in a folder called "Templates" under a Website Installation Folder.

Once created you can edit the new Template in XPOR Object Modeller.

Template Structure

A template is made up of several different parts, these are "Sections", "Rows" and "Elements".

Section

A section is a container for a selection of Rows. They have several configurable settings; BackgroundColour, CSSClass, OuterBackgroundColour, OverrideWidth, and Padding.

Template Section

Row

A row is a container for a selection of elements, you can think of it as a Row in a Spreadsheet with the Elements being the Cells. They have 2 configurable settings; BackgroundColour and DynamicHeight.
